State-owned RCF has officially launched a fresh international procurement drive for 1.7 million metric tons of bulk urea. Even though Western markets are experiencing sluggish demand, the world’s leading fertilizer buyer continues to secure massive volumes, cementing its dominance in global trade flows.
The total tonnage is distributed between the west coast (1 million tons) and the east coast (700,000 tons). Bids officially opened on August 11, remain valid through August 24, and require all shipments to be completed by September 24. This particular round introduces tougher commercial terms, including mandatory dual-option quotes (FOB and CFR) for specific producer tiers, a strict prohibition on unrouted „floating” vessels, and high minimum volume floors that restrict entry to major players.
Complying with geopolitical realities, the tender incorporates extensive screening mechanisms. RCF enforces automatic disqualifications for any suppliers, ships, or logistics channels caught in US, EU, or UK sanctions, while completely barring cargo origins or transit lanes involving Ukraine, the Sea of Azov, Russian Black Sea ports, and nearby border territories. Industry experts agree the outcome will serve as the premier Q3 2026 pricing benchmark.
