The domestic fertilizer market is experiencing extreme volatility, prompting more frequent price monitoring. Data collected from roughly twenty distributors across Poland (gross prices, excluding discounts) reveals a steep and alarming upward trend over just the past week and a half.
Grupa Azoty Price Hikes The sharpest recent increase was recorded for Pulan ammonium nitrate, which now costs an average of 2,360 PLN/t—a massive jump of 140 PLN per ton. Other domestic products have also surged: Zaksan/Megan 33.5 is priced at 2,330 PLN/t (up 90 PLN), while Pulrea urea with a urease inhibitor has reached 3,340 PLN/t (+50 PLN). Saletrzak 27 now averages 2,070 PLN/t (+30 PLN), and Saletrosan 26 plus stands at 2,220 PLN/t (+40 PLN). Liquid nitrogen fertilizers are similarly affected, with UAN 28 (RSM 28) rising to 2,060 PLN/t (+60 PLN) and UAN 32 climbing to 2,200 PLN/t (+60 PLN).
Anwil and Imported Alternatives Products from Anwil, Orlen’s fertilizer division, reflect the same costly trajectory. Anwistar ammonium nitrate currently averages 2,360 PLN/t (+80 PLN), and Canwil saletrzak is listed at 2,130 PLN/t (+40 PLN). In the imported goods sector, only standard urea without inhibitors maintained its previous price of 2,940 PLN/t. Imported ammonium nitrate climbed to 1,890 PLN/t (+90 PLN), and foreign saletrzak slightly increased to 1,650 PLN/t (+20 PLN).
Profitability Crisis and Supply Bottlenecks The scale of these hikes is deeply problematic. Over the past month, fertilizers rose by an average of 110 PLN (with Anwistar jumping by 200 PLN at the time), and the last week and a half added another 55 PLN per ton across the board. At the most expensive outlets, ammonium nitrate exceeds 2,500 PLN/t, urea borders on 3,700 PLN/t, and saletrzak reaches 2,400 PLN/t. Combined with low crop procurement prices, the agricultural sector is effectively reverting to the severe economic pressures last seen in early 2023. Compounding these financial woes is a growing availability crisis. Despite reportedly normal manufacturing output, distributors are increasingly freezing sales or offering vital products—especially UAN—strictly on a pre-order basis.
